Frequently Asked Questions.
If we transition from our current provider to TransPerfect, will we lose the benefits of our past work history?
No – Your work history is Boeing’s intellectual property, and your current provider should be able to deliver that history in the form of a Translation Memory, or TM. TransPerfect can help you get your TM assets from your current vendor, and migrate them to Boeing’s global TM so they are leveraged and continue to grow.
Will switching vendors be a huge hassle?
TransPerfect will work with you to make the change as easy as possible. It’s our job to learn and adapt to your processes and preferences. Based on your TM and past work history, we will establish guidelines for terminology, style, and other nuances. Over the first few projects, you also have the opportunity to hand-pick the linguists assigned to work on your translations. As Boeing’s contracted supplier, the PO and approval processes will be much easier.
Won’t a global vendor be more expensive?
With discounted rates that are 20% less than market value, Boeing’s will see immediate cost savings. In centralizing all translations through TransPerfect, Boeing will achieve further cost savings, faster time to market, and increased consistency across all channels of the business. TransPerfect’s selection was also based on Quality Management certifications that will help Boeing mitigate risks and reduce the costs of regulatory compliance.
