Bringing Generative AI to CCMO Translations

TransPerfect initiated a proof of concept in November 2023 to assess the effectiveness of using a secure, generative AI-powered LLM solution in translating customer complaints. The focus was on addressing challenges in translating non-English customer texts, including errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax. Results:

  • Promising results were observed based on a sample of 60 Chinese customer complaints.
  • Significant improvement in translation accuracy and fluency in English, compared to the existing MT-only process.
  • Accurate translation of P&G product names, with potential for further optimization of the glossary of terms.

Implementing a Program of MT Excellence for Consumer-Facing Content & Patents

In order to achieve the necessary quality for critical content streams and bring innovation to the way they are translated, TransPerfect has developed a framework for implementing MTPE-powered workflows based on the premise that MT should operate as a customizable program, rather than a plug-in.

  • Our MT Excellence Program framework consists of Initial and Ongoing MT Engine Training using P&G TMs, Diversified MTPE Workflows based on quality requirements, and Robust Performance Reporting for real-time evaluation.
  • The MTEP is intended to optimize the quality of machine translation output through engine customization in order to maximize savings and efficiency that can be extended to P&G.
